1. Controller
The controller responsible for the processing of personal data on this website (voltixatech.com) is:
Frederik Götting (trading as Voltixatech)
Augsburger Straße 38, 89231 Neu-Ulm, Germany
E-mail: support@voltixatech.com
This Privacy Policy explains how we process your personal data when you visit our online store, place an order or contact us. Our store runs on Shopify, which provides the technical platform.
2. Hosting and technical data
Our store is hosted by Shopify (Shopify International Limited, Ireland, and affiliated companies). When you visit our website, Shopify automatically processes technical data such as your IP address, date and time of access, browser type, device information and pages viewed. This is necessary to deliver the website securely and to protect it against misuse. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and functional website). More information: https://privacy.shopify.com/en
3. Orders and contract performance
When you place an order, we process your name, billing and shipping address, e-mail address, phone number (if provided), the ordered items and payment details. We use this data to process your order, deliver the goods, handle payments, provide customer service and fulfil our accounting and tax duties. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract) and Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligations). Without this data we cannot conclude or perform the contract.
4. Payment providers
We offer the payment methods shown at checkout, processed through Shopify Payments (including card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna) and PayPal. Your payment data is processed by the respective payment provider. We only receive limited information such as the payment status, payment method and, for cards, the card type and last four digits. The payment providers also act as independent controllers for their own fraud prevention and legal obligations. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
5. Fulfilment, suppliers and shipping
To deliver your order, we pass your name, delivery address, phone number, e-mail address and order contents to our fulfilment partner CJdropshipping (China) and to the postal and logistics companies and customs authorities involved in the delivery. Many products are shipped from warehouses in China or other countries. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Where this involves a transfer to a country outside the EU/EEA without an adequacy decision (for example China), the transfer is necessary for the performance of our contract with you (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR).
6. Fraud prevention
Shopify and our payment providers may analyse order, device and payment data to detect fraud. We review flagged orders ourselves. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in preventing fraud). We do not use automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
7. Customer account
If you create a customer account, we store your account data (name, e-mail address, addresses, order history) to provide the account. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
8. Contacting us by e-mail
If you contact us by e-mail or through our contact page, we process the data you send us (e.g. name, e-mail address, message) to answer your request. Our e-mails are handled by Zoho Mail (EU data centre). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete the data once the request is resolved, unless statutory retention duties apply.
9. Live chat (tawk.to)
Our website offers a live chat provided by tawk.to Inc. (USA). The chat is only loaded if you consent to it via our cookie banner. If you use the chat, tawk.to processes the messages you write, your IP address, browser information and the page you are on. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. Data may be transferred to the USA on the basis of the safeguards described by tawk.to. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link.
10. Newsletter and marketing e-mails (Klaviyo)
If you subscribe to our newsletter or have consented to marketing messages (for example via our sign-up pop-up), we use Klaviyo, Inc. (USA) to send e-mails. Klaviyo processes your e-mail address, name and, where applicable, order and interaction data (e.g. which e-mails you open) to send and personalise our messages, including reminders about items left in your cart if you have consented to these. We use a confirmation e-mail (double opt-in): you are only subscribed after clicking the confirmation link. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time, for example via the unsubscribe link in every e-mail. Data transfers to the USA are based on the safeguards described by Klaviyo (e.g. standard contractual clauses).
